Where in the World?
Businesses in countries throughout the world specialize in different products for a number of reasons: they have the resources available to produce a good, they can manufacture it less expensively, and there's a demand for this product in other parts of the world. There's an interdependence among us all as things we create here in Ohio or the U.S. are sent to countries around the world. In exchange, we receive from them goods that make our lifestyle interesting and fun.
So what do you use in your home and in your life that comes from another country? The challenge is great: find a product that is made in another country, but that is not on our list!
As a class, decide on a product that is produced by a company based in another country. How do you know? Check the bottom of a product to find the "Made in…." label that is required for import into the U.S. Then fill in the form below and tell us what the product is and where it is from.
