Online Graduate Credit Course Opportunities
The Producing Ohio professional development course is conducted by the Economics Center for Education and Research at the University of Cincinnati. The course instructor is Douglas Haskell, Associate Director. It will take teachers ten to twelve clock hours on task to complete the requirements. Additional online and independent assignments will be available to expand the course to two quarter hours of graduate credit.
The goals of the course are:
- to introduce grade 4-8 teachers to the multimedia materials and instructional activities of the Producing Ohio: Creating Our Economy kit;
- to demonstrate instructional activities appropriate to support instruction toward Ohio Academic Content Standards in Social Studies, Math and English/Language Arts; and
- to expand and improve a teacher's understanding of the economic concepts included in the content standards.
The Producing Ohio professional development course will be available starting in August 2008. 1 or 2 quarter hours of graduate credit is available at $199 per credit hour. For credit information or to register, go to: www.EconomicsCenter.org
